However, my parents moved to California . I was young and only seen grandparent in the summer .
so on holidays my Mom and Dad would makes the Sweet Pork Empanadas with raisins, spices : cloves , other spices and my Mom make the dough and Dad would roll out dough and fill empanadas closes the dough with this little twist at top of dough. Mom would fry . Grandparents and Parents are now gone and I’ve tried making Empanadas each year and this is the closes recipe I have also found . Thank you for the recipe .

It’s very similar to empanadas my mom used to make. Of course she didn’t have a written recipe nor did I have the forethought she wouldn’t always be around to make them.
My mom used to add prunes to the meat mix. She would also make just prunes with nuts adding the same spices as the meat mix. This was one of my favorite foods during the holidays.
She grew up in Augua Ramon near Del Norte Colorado.

In el Almo, the next town over, they still make homemade turcos..Im going to make these as its a reminder of home..Thank you for sharing.. Our version is slightly bigger empanada, very thin and flakey..
